Proudly, Introducing our Rural Health Clinic to serve the City of Wasco and its residents.

The Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Program is intended to increase access to primary care services for patients in rural communities. We use a team approach with Board Certified such as Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Certified Nurse Assistants, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide quality care.

Services

SERVICES

Good Samaritan offers vital healthcare services to the residents of our community.  We offer, primary care, behavioral health services and a lot more. You can also visit our Hospital in Bakersfield for even more Services!  See the list below for a description of the exceptional service provided by Good Samaritan Wasco Health Center.

Primary Care

Most of us know that primary care doctors treat aches, pains, and colds. But these are just a few areas primary care doctors treat in a broad field of expertise. Primary care doctors:

  • care for most diseases except very uncommon or unusual ones;

  • offer counseling;

  • and monitor your health against your lifestyle goals over time, something called health promotion.

They also educate patients about preventing chronic diseases, like limiting sugar if you have prediabetes or increasing your physical activity if you’re at higher risk for heart disease.

Internal Medicine

The medical specialty dedicated to the diagnosis and medical treatment of adults. A physician who specializes in internal medicine is referred to as an internist. Subspecialties of internal medicine include allergy and immunology, cardiology (heart diseases), endocrinology (hormone disorders), hematology (blood disorders), infectious diseases, gastroenterology (diseases of the gut), nephrology (kidney diseases), oncology (cancer), pulmonology (lung disorders), and rheumat-ology (arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders).

Wound Care

For some people, a lot of people, their wound just won’t heal.  This is especially true for those suffering from diabetes and other vascular disorders.  These people need specialized wound care treatment available at our Regional Wound Care Center.

When a wound does not heal for a couple of weeks, you should seek medical attention. We use many different treatments depending on the need of the patient. In our Hyperbaric Chamber,  we use oxygen to help build the necessary blood vessels so the wound can heal naturally.  You lay comfortably in a clear Hyperbaric chamber with 100% oxygen.  That is 20-30 times the oxygen normally absorbed by skin tissue.

OB / GYN

An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, has expertise in female reproductive health, pregnancy, and childbirth. Some OB-GYNs offer a wide range of general health services similar to your primary care doctor. Others focus on the medical care of the female reproductive system.

OB-GYNs also provide routine medical services and preventive screenings. This type of doctor has studied obstetrics and gynecology.

The term “OB-GYN” can refer to the doctor, an obstetrician-gynecologist, or to the sciences that the doctor specializes in, which are obstetrics and gynecology.
